bookManuscript Board

The Manuscript Board gives you a clear, structured overview of your manuscript and its chapters. You can review your outlines, manage sub‑chapters, and organize your content in either a detailed or simplified layout. It’s designed to help you navigate and manage your manuscript with ease.

Once you open your Manuscript Board for the first time, you will be presented with the detailed view:

You can scroll down to view all your folders and chapters. The icons in the bottom‑right corner show how many chapters and outlines each folder contains. When you’re viewing a chapter, those icons instead display the number of sub‑chapters it includes.

Let's talk about the top right icons:

  1. You have the search bar, which allows you to navigate your folders and chapters to easily locate them.

  2. The View button lets you choose how you want to display your content, allowing you to switch between a Detailed view and a Simple view based on your preference.

  1. The Filter button allows you to filter by the status. For example, I have two statuses created, helping me navigate which of my chapters are ready and pending.

  1. Lastly, you have the ''+ Add'' button, where you can create folders, outlines, and chapters.

Now, what's the difference between the detailed and simple views?

The Detailed view gives you a fuller, more comprehensive layout, allowing you to see and edit elements such as the title, manuscript content, statuses, and more. By clicking the three dots on the right, you can open your folders or chapters, make edits, add new chapters, and access additional options.

The Simple view offers a less detailed view, where you can still navigate your manuscript's contents, but without any of the extra info on screen.
